KOSOVO - Strengthening Transparency, Efficiency, and Compliance with European Union Standards
As part of the project KSV/019 - Technical Assistance in the context of European Integration of Kosovo, a series of trainings were conducted in Pristina for various administrative bodies, with a focus on the effective application of the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) criterion, which is a crucial component of European Union procurement standards.
Participants from various administrative bodies, including ministries and state-owned enterprises like the Post of Kosovo, actively took part in these insightful sessions.
By familiarising participants with the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) criterion, the training aimed to enhance the processing of tender documents in accordance with European Union standards, and the overall quality of public procurement in Kosovo. The objective is to increase the application of the MEAT criterion in public procurement in Kosovo, with a target of reaching 8-10% over the next two years (from 5% in 2022).
Exciting developments are currently underway as Kosovo is in the process of drafting a new law on public procurement. This commitment reflects Kosovo's determination to improve its legal framework and align it with international standards in the field of public procurement. In addition to promoting effective procurement practices, these initiatives contribute to Kosovo's aspirations to join the European Union.
The KSV/019 project - Technical Assistance in the context of European Integration of Kosovo is co-funded by Kosovo and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by the Kosovo Ministry of European Integration and LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency.
