Participation in the "Africa in 2060" conference organised by InterLycées
On 11 October 2023, Manuel TONNAR, Director General of LuxDev, together with Geneviève HENGEN, Deputy Director of the Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs Directorate, took part in a study morning organised by InterLycées at the Athénée de Luxembourg.
Under the theme of "Africa in 2060: the African continent as Africans wish it to be", this event was an opportunity to present to some 350 upper secondary school students the activities and interventions of Luxembourg Cooperation in Africa, as well as the challenges in terms of development cooperation that particularly affect the countries of the Sahel.

A panel discussion was then organised with the students and the morning's speakers (MFEA, LuxDev, European Investment Bank, African Union, ADA and Luxembourg Microfinance and Development Fund).

InterLycées was set up in 2004 by a group of teachers to organise training courses, either in the form of meetings, debates, study mornings, round tables or conferences, aimed at pupils in the higher sections and divisions and specialisation cycles of Luxembourg's classical, modern and technical secondary education system, and inviting decision-makers or leaders from all institutions in national and international society.
