Benin was added to LuxDev’s intervention countries in 2022, when the General Cooperation Agreement between Luxembourg and Benin was signed on 19 December.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg opened an embassy in Cotonou in September 2023 and LuxDev has been represented there through a country office since February 2023.
Initial support has begun and is focused on the sectors of agriculture, forestry and fishery, education, vocational training and employment, inclusive and innovative finance, as well as digitalisation and ICT.
