Mid-term evaluation
The Management of Natural Resources in Burkina Faso has become a key sector for the Luxembourg Cooperation. Sahelian Africa has indeed the responsability to manage its resources in a shaky environment, challenged on a daily basis by desertification and climatic change.
Project BKF/015 is a tool which allowed Burkina Faso to get a better grip on its own forestry resources in order to develop its sustainable management.
Project therefore contributed to the development of the economy and poverty reduction in the rural areas.
The technical aspect (data collection, forestry inventory, ethnobotanic studies, etc.) also allowed for sustainable solutions regarding soil erosion by providing seeds for compensation plantations.
The Luxembourg Cooperation is giving the authorities of Burkina Faso the means to better manage their own resources and benefit from them.
