Luxembourg Embassy briefing highlights support for innovation and private sector growth in Kosovo
Kosovo 29.01.2026 Projet
On 28 January 2026, the Luxembourg Embassy in Pristina hosted an information and briefing event that brought together representatives of Kosovo’s business community, institutions, and partners to present the LuxAid Demonstration Fund (LDF), an initiative financed by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, to accelerate the growth and impact of innovative digital and green solutions. The event provided an opportunity to reaffirm Luxembourg’s continued support for private-sector-led innovation in Kosovo, to engage with potential applicants, and to highlight the strategic importance of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth in the current global development context.
Continued commitment to innovation and jobs
In his opening remarks, H.E. Eric DIETZ, chargé d'affaires at the Luxembourg Embassy in Pristina, emphasised that Kosovo businesses are increasingly dynamic and resilient. He underlined that Luxembourg remains committed to investing in innovation and other key sectors in Kosovo, particularly at a time when development cooperation funding is being reduced globally, reaffirming Luxembourg’s long-term partnership with the country.
The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Rozeta HAJDARI, expressed her gratitude to Luxembourg for maintaining a strong focus on private sector support. She highlighted the role of such initiatives in creating new jobs, strengthening Kosovo enterprises, and expanding linkages with European Union markets.
During the briefing session, a presentation was delivered by Agon DULA, LuxDev's national project leader for private sector engagement fund. The presentation outlined the objectives of the LDF – supporting mature Kosovo-based companies with innovative solutions that address societal challenges while demonstrating strong commercial potential –, its focus on digital and green innovation, as well as the main eligibility criteria and application process, followed by a discussion with participants.

Outreach to the business community
Beyond the embassy briefing, LuxDev carried out a series of outreach activities to ensure broad access to information on the call. These included two in-person information sessions in Pristina for the business community, as well as an online webinar open to companies across Kosovo. In parallel, information on the fund was shared through television and radio media, further extending outreach to potential applicants. These efforts aim to ensure that eligible businesses across Kosovo are well informed and supported in preparing quality applications.
Interested enterprises are invited to submit their applications via the submission platform by 6 February 2026. Ten shortlisted candidates will benefit from coaching to strengthen their proposals and prepare for pitching. They will then be invited to pitch in front of the selection committee in June 2026. The final decision is expected by July 2026, with three to four projects selected.
