In celebration of International Women’s month, the Rwanda Stock Exchange, along with the International Finance Corporation, the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Women, United National Global Impact, and the World Federation of Exchanges, joined other stock exchanges around the world in ringing the bell for gender equality in Rwanda.
This global event is bringing attention to the role of the private sector in advancing gender equality, but also the role of women in business and finance.

115 stock exchanges
participated around the world, including Luxembourg, Cabo Verde, Costa Rica, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, and Vietnam.
In line with this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”, the 2026 call to action highlights the need to mobilise capital markets to strengthen transparency, accountability, and incentives that support women’s rights and economic empowerment. The initiative urges a continued push to ensure that markets work for women and girls, not against them.
Together, we’re not just ringing a bell. We’re ringing for a future where women lead, thrive, and shape the world of finance!
If we educate women, we educate a nation… At the Rwanda Stock Exchange, we strongly believe that inclusive capital markets lead to stronger economies.
