With the support of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kosovo Association of Information and Communication Technology (STIKK) has presented the findings of the Kosovo IT Barometer 2023–2024 and officially inaugurated the new Tech Park Prishtina canteen, marking an important step in strengthening Kosovo’s ICT ecosystem.

Discussing the Kosovo IT Barometer

The event, held at Tech Park Prishtina, brought together ICT companies, partners and stakeholders to discuss the latest developments in the sector and to celebrate the new infrastructure that supports collaboration, learning and growth. Opening remarks were delivered by STIKK’s Executive Director, Ms Vjollca ÇAVOLLI, who highlighted the importance of reliable data for understanding trends and challenges in Kosovo’s ICT sector. She was followed by Mr Henrique STEFANI, project manager of the Skills for sustainable jobs in Kosovo project, who emphasised the role of skills development, employment and modern infrastructure in enabling sustainable economic growth.

The Kosovo IT Barometer findings offer insights into employment trends, skills gaps, exports, market dynamics and cooperation between businesses, educational institutions and public bodies. For the first time, the Barometer also includes a dedicated section on dual vocational education and training (Dual VET) in ICT, highlighting how companies engage with students, host trainees and assess the relevance of vocational programmes to labour-market needs.

A new canteen for the Tech Park Prishtina

Following the presentation, participants joined the official opening of the Tech Park canteen an investment financed through Luxembourg’s Development Cooperation support to continue discussions in an informal networking setting. The canteen is expected to contribute to the sustainability and attractiveness of Tech Park Prishtina, encouraging greater interaction among companies, students and partners.

Through its support to STIKK, LuxDev is strengthening the association’s role as a leading business membership organisation in the ICT sector. This includes supporting annual skills-gap analyses through the IT Barometer, with a particular focus on measuring and advancing the implementation of Dual VET in ICT.

In parallel, the operationalisation of the Tech Park canteen enhances the infrastructure needed to attract tenants, support daily operations and create a more vibrant innovation environment elements that are essential for the long-term success of Dual VET and workforce-development initiatives.

By combining evidence-based analysis with targeted infrastructure investments, Luxembourg’s Development Cooperation supports the creation of a robust and sustainable ICT ecosystem in Kosovo. This approach helps identify skills needs, align education with labour-market demand, and reinforce ICT as a priority sector for inclusive growth and employment.
