On 11 July 2025, the project Finance for resilience, which aims to foster climate-smart agriculture and financial inclusion in Hue city, convened its first steering committee meeting to assess the project’s progress during its initial six months and to endorse the operational plan and budget for 2025 and 2026.

Key discussions

Key discussions centered on the project’s strategic implementation approaches, which prioritise building partnerships with private sector actors to promote climate-smart agricultural practices, enhance market access, and develop tailored financial products in collaboration with Agribank. Additionally, the project is committed to inclusivity by integrating gender-responsive initiatives and adopting an intersectional approach to address the diverse challenges faced by smallholder farmers and vulnerable groups.

An excessive focus on commercial success could inadvertently exclude disadvantaged groups; conversely, an overemphasis on inclusion may hinder scalability and sustainability.

Thus, the project Finance for resilience seeks to develop sustainable business models and financial mechanisms that can scale effectively by balancing economic viability and inclusivity. This initiative works in tandem with the Climate adaptation and resilience project, funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), ensuring that interventions reach scale and lead to lasting change.
