"EmpowerHER: women navigating agri-entrepreneurship challenges and crafting intervention plans in the context of climate change" workshop in Hue, Vietnam

On 8 July 2025, the project Finance for resilience, which aims to foster climate-smart agriculture and financial inclusion in Vietnam to improve resilience of smallholder farmers – especially women, conducted "EmpowerHER: women navigating agri-entrepreneurship challenges and crafting intervention plans in the context of climate change" workshop in Hue, Vietnam.

The workshop brought together over 50 participants, including representatives from cooperatives, agribusiness enterprises, experts from LuxDev and various government agencies in Hue city. Attendees actively engaged in interactive discussion groups, identifying specific challenges and collaboratively developing actionable plans tailored to their needs.

Key outcomes from the workshop included a comprehensive list of identified challenges, such as limited access to financial services and market linkages. Additionally, a strategic action plan was designed to enhance the participation of cooperatives and SMEs in climate-smart agricultural practices. Participants explored potential partnerships and resources to support the implementation of their plans and further empower women.

As the project Finance for resilience progresses, the insights gained from this workshop will be instrumental in advancing gender equality and fostering sustainable practices across agricultural value chains. "EmpowerHER" represents a significant step towards creating a supportive environment where all stakeholders can thrive in a resilient agricultural landscape, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.

The project Finance for resilience, funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, aims to support climate resilience and economic empowerment of smallholder farmers and agri-entrepreneurs, with a particular emphasis on empowering women in Hue, Vietnam.
